Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

To generate your Human Design chart and find the people you’re designed to connect with, we collect the following:

• Account details — your name (and optional display name) and email address, used to create your account and sign you in.
• Birth data — your date of birth, time of birth (or an estimate), and city/location of birth. This is essential: your Human Design chart is calculated directly from these values. Without them, the core of the Service cannot work.
• Identity & preference details— your gender and who you’re interested in connecting with (orientation), used to show mutually compatible matches. You choose what to share.
• Profile content — anything you optionally add to your profile, including photos, and messages you send to connections.
• Derived Human Design data — your Type, Authority, Profile, defined/undefined centers, gates, and channels, which we compute from your birth data.
• Usage & technical data — basic information such as the pages you visit and general performance/analytics data, used to keep the Service running and improve it.

2. A Note on Photos

When you upload a profile photo, we automatically strip location metadata (EXIF/GPS) from the image before storing it, so your photos don’t silently reveal where they were taken. Photos are shown to other members only in the context of connections and matching within the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to run and improve the Service:

• Generate your Human Design chart and personalized reading.
• Calculate compatibility and surface potential soulmate-level and deep-bond matches.
• Enable connections, messaging, and match notifications between members.
• Send you transactional emails (sign-in links, match notifications, connection updates, credit/refund confirmations).
• Process payments for connection credits.
• Provide support, prevent abuse and fraud, and keep the Service secure and reliable.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored

We rely on a small set of trusted service providers to operate. Your data may be processed and stored by:

• Turso — our primary database, where your account, birth data, chart, profile, and connections are stored.
• Vercel — hosting for the website and, for uploaded photos, secure file storage.
• Brevo — our email and contact platform, used to send transactional and account emails.
• Stripe — our payment processor. Card details are handled directly by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments, and only to deliver the Service. Some of them may store data on servers located outside Canada (for example, in the United States).

5. How We Share Information

We share information only in these limited situations, and never for sale:

• With other members — when you connect with someone, relevant parts of your profile (such as your name, chart, and shared photos/messages) become visible to that person, as the Service is designed to work.
• With our service providers — the processors listed above, strictly to operate the Service.
• For legal reasons — if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our members or the Service.
• In a business transfer — if the company is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, data may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

6. Your Rights & Choices

You are in control of your data. You can:

• Access and update your account and birth details from your profile settings.
• Delete your account and associated personal data. You can delete your account yourself at any time from your profile settings, or email us at contact@soulmatesbydesign.co to request deletion. We will remove your data from our database and email platform, except where we’re legally required to retain certain records (for example, payment history for tax purposes).
• Opt out of non-essential emails at any time. Transactional emails tied to your account activity (such as sign-in links) may still be sent.

7. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except for limited records we’re required to keep by law.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and limit access to it.

9. Children

The Service is intended for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
